Lance Foster

Mr. Foster is the President and Cofounder of Veracity Research Company. He has more than 30 years of investigative experience in both law enforcement and insurance defense investigations. He has assisted in the prosecution of many fraud cases at the local, state and federal levels. He has authored fraud plans and SIU programs for several dedicated producers, and has provided SIU consulting for these and other insureds. Mr. Foster also attends numerous insurance industry conferences and trade shows throughout the country. He routinely presents Continuing Education seminars to insurance companies and third party administrators across the United States. Mr. Foster frequently hosts education seminars on state licensing requirements, state case laws as they pertain to the insurance industry and federal statutes. Mr. Foster received an honorable discharge upon his completion of his tenure in the United States Army. Specifically, Mr. Foster's diverse training and specialties exist in the arenas of Military Police, Military Police Investigations Supervisor, Executive Protection, Hostage Negotiations, Evidence Custodian and Private Investigator specializing in insurance defense investigations.

Maria Salcedo

Maria has extensive experience as a Financial Executive demonstrating strong leadership across different industries such as HF Sinclair (refining & renewable energy), EMSI (healthcare), Harman International (a company of Samsung), Ernst & Young, Citigroup and Adobe Systems.
Recognized for leading collaborative initiatives, Maria has success in delivering a wide range of business transformation & process improvements, implementing multiple ERPs and financial planning systems, assisting in mergers & acquisitions, and managing several Finance & Accounting teams. She is a proven strategic thinker and problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
Maria holds a Master of Science in Accounting and MIS from the University of Texas at Dallas, a Master in Business Administration from La Verne University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines. She is a Rotary International Scholar, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Chartered Management Accountant (CGMA) and an Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) under the AICPA.
Maria lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband. She enjoys travelling and tasting cuisines from different cultures or regions.

Robert Hughey

With over 18 years of Investigative experience, Robert Hughey helps VRC customers overcome the challenges they face today in Insurance Fraud, Compliance, and Risk Management. With a global perspective, Mr. Hughey is a recognized expert in Special Investigation Unit processes related to Insurance Fraud, with several national speaking credits and continuing education seminars. His career has focused on business development within surveillance investigations, claims investigations, and continuing education. As a Project Engineer at one point during his career, Mr. Hughey created risk management solutions that drastically cut loss time and improved overall safety guidelines still in use today. Mr. Hughey has a business degree from West Texas A&M. He serves on the Advisory board for the New Mexico Worker's Compensation Review Panel. He is also very involved in local charities with his wife. His passions include spending time with his family in the great outdoors and volunteering at his local church.

Richard Boivin

With more than 22 years in the information technology and software development industry, Mr. Boivin has served as the technology expert for VRC. Since 2004 he has overseen the development of our flagship Investigative Management System™ products and services. He has a vast background including information security, software development, and networking and systems engineering. In addition, he has managed large information systems and network upgrades for fortune 500 companies such as NCR, Texas Instruments, AT&T, and Citigroup. With a focus on software automation, he specializes in creation of business logic software and process flow technologies. The incorporation of this expertise has made VRC's Investigation Management System™ one of the most sought-after technology products in the industry. Mr. Boivin and his development team are responsible for the creation of an advanced, all-digital HD video product line for surveillance. This innovative product incorporates a proprietary conversion process that produces surveillance video at the highest possible resolution and clarity.

Dan Ziemer

For over 20 years, Dan Ziemer has served clients in the insurance industry through a variety of roles and responsibilities. Prior to entering the industry, he was a Loss Prevention and Safety Manager for a large retail department store chain. Dan first entered the insurance industry as a Fraud Investigator, where he performed hundreds of field investigations throughout the Midwest as well as in Florida. After rising to become an Investigations Manager, Dan was called upon to serve in a Sales Executive role in order to facilitate growth for the company in the Midwest. He held several operational and sales leadership roles for various investigation firms before initialing joining VRC in 2006 as National Account Manager. As National Account Manager, Dan was responsible for all sales growth and objectives throughout the Midwest and was later promoted to Sales Supervisor with oversight for all sales executive in the northern half of the country.
After eight years in the fraud investigation space, Dan moved into the managed care space, serving in roles including Director of National Account, Director of National Sales and Vice President of National Sales for a variety of medical cost containment service providers. Throughout his career, he continued building and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers, third party administrators, self-insured employers as well as attorneys and other industry connections. In 2020, Dan returned to VRC, first in the role of National Partnership Manager, where he led the firm’s nationwide programmatic sales efforts, and most recently was promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In his current role, Dan is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s overall sales and marketing program.
Dan is based in the Chicago, IL area and regularly travels throughout the country to work with the sales team and meet with customers to develop customized anti-fraud solutions. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Sciences from Illinois State University. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dan spends time with his wife and three boys. His favorite pastimes include running, playing basketball and anything he gets to do with his family.

Shawn Hynes

Shawn Hynes has been a licensed private investigator for over 22 years and graduated from Richard Stockton University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He has worked in all aspects of the business starting out as a field investigator, moving into social media investigations and background investigations. As social media platforms became more common, Shawn has been able to show clients the value of using social media investigations in conjunction with strategic surveillance to help combat insurance fraud. He has been in business operations for the last 15 years and works closely with the administrative and field staff to ensure quality results for our clients. He also works closely with some of our unique accounts that require complex investigative strategies. In his free time, Shawn likes spending time with his wife and two daughters. They enjoy traveling to new places and relaxing at the Jersey Shore. Shawn also enjoys golfing and fishing.

Nate Reber

Starting as an entry-level Surveillance Operative, Nate learned investigations from the ground up. Over the course of his 15-year career, Nate has mastered the art of surveillance, Social Media Analysis, Medical Canvassing, and SIU services. Nate has used this knowledge to help his clients understand the various investigative tools available to them to help mitigate wrongful exposure. As the Vice President of Customer Success, Nate now works closely with his current clientele to foster a teamwork, strategic approach to performing effective investigations.
Nate graduated magna cum laude from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been recognized as a CFE with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and has served as a recognized guest speaker on numerous occasions.
